The Paradise In Cadiz

A spectacular city

Cadiz is described by many as a day tripper’s paradise, as all the monuments and the buildings that are representative for its historical and its cultural past are easy to reach (they are all located in the city’s center). If you are in the railroad station or in the cruise port, you can easily reach the most important sights by walking. This makes Cadiz a spectacular city, as it is packed with history, culture and architecture and it is very easy to reach for any type of tourist!

Sightseeing in Cadiz

Cadiz is a spectacular place for sightseeing, so prepare your camera, because you will take hundreds of pictures! The historic and cultural heritages are extremely rich, so you will have no time to get bored! Start your sightseeing tour with the beautiful Cadiz Cathedral, as it is one of the landmarks of the city; the Poniente Tower of the Cathedral is absolutely amazing for enjoying the surrounding views. Climbing the steps up can be tiring, but it is worth the effort; the views are breathtaking! The Roman Theatre was discovered only in 1980 and it is a spectacular remnant of the amazing past of Cadiz.

The Roman Archeological Site and the spectacular Bishop’s House should also be on your sightseeing list, while the old Tavira Tower, once used by merchants to watch for the important arriving ships will make a strong impression on you. Also visit the Admiral’s House dating back to the 17th century, the Museum of Cadiz, and the villa costa blanca, the main and most beautiful square in Cadiz in the 1800s, the Central Market, the Santa Catarina Castle and the San Sebastian Castle. They are absolutely spectacular, as they are representative for the archeological styles in Cadiz.

Having fun in Cadiz

While in Cadiz, you can enjoy the spectacular sun and get a nice tan on one of its beaches. Playa de Victoria is known as being one of the best beaches in the country, but the Playa de Caleta is also beautiful! Try them, as the views they offer are superb! The waterfront parks, the promenades the cafes and the restaurants are perfect for relaxation, so make sure you have enough time!

Tips

Not many tourists know about the boat service in the port that puts trips along the coast at your disposal. You should take it into consideration for a relaxing night!
